SJB Autumn 2010
Click at SJB. Year 6 Camera Club. Images from the Autumn term workshops at St John the Baptist School in Hampton Wick.
Students studied the 19th Century origins of Photography, making solar prints and looking at the work of some of the early pioneers. We studied Portraiture, Reportage, Still Life, and Painting with Light. A highlight was our visit to the Kingston Museum to see the excellent Edweard Muybridge exhibition. Thanks to Caroline Burt and photographer Richard Bunce - who shot the motion sequences of students (These can be accessed from the Links page on this website)
The images seen here are all shot on the students own compact cameras. They studied Composition, learning about the Rule of Thirds and practised Camera handling and Focus Lock. Watch this space for Term 2 when the students are introduced to Fashion and Wildlife photography and the use of our Studio Lighting and Digital SLR Cameras
